for Billie D. Alford,
age 84, will be at 10:00
AM Monday, September 21,
2009, at the
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel, with Mr.
Ray Rose officiating.
Cremation arrangements
are by Anderson-Burris
Funeral Home and
Crematory.
He was born to
Earl D. and Rosie L.
(Leonard) Alford on
December 7, 1924, in
Oilton, OK, and died
Wednesday, September 16,
2009, in Enid.
He grew up in Oilton,
and then graduated from
Newkirk High School
in 1943. Billie
served in the United
States Army during World
War II from June 1943 to
January 1946. On
September 21, 1946 he
married Wanda Noema
Cathcart in Blackwell,
and they made their home
in Newkirk and Kansas
City. Billie attended
the National Trade
School in Kansas City,
MO, and received his
Master Automotive
Technical diploma. They
moved to Enid in 1948.
He worked at the
Pontiac-Cadillac
dealership for
thirty-eight years. He
was a member of Garriott
Road Church of Christ.
Billie is survived
by his wife Noema of
sixty-three years; his
children, Gail Hayes of
Bennett, CO, Greg and
Debbie Alford of Katy,
TX; one sister, Helen
Nowell of Winfield, KS;
four grandchildren; and
five
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his parents,
two brothers, and three
sisters.
Memorials
may be made through the
funeral home to Garriott
Road Church of Christ.
