A graveside service
for Ama Darline
Russell, age 85, of
Enid, will be held
at 10:00 A.M.
Thursday, October
26, 2006 at Memorial
Park Garden Chapel,
with Rev. Jeff
Enabnit
officiating. Family
and friends will
gather at the
Anderson-Burris
Funeral Home at 9:30
AM before proceeding
to the cemetery.
She was born on
February 23, 1921,
in Carmen, OK, and
died Sunday, October
22, 2006, at the
Methodist Home in
Enid. She and her
twin sister were
adopted and raised
by Henry and Myrtle
Blaylock. She
graduated from Enid
High School and
Phillips
University. On
February 6, 1945,
she married William
Ted Russell in
Enid. They moved to
Claremore in 1957,
where she was active
in the First Baptist
Church. They later
moved to Washington,
Iowa, and she was a
member of Marian
Avenue Baptist
Church. She was a
swimmer and bowler,
receiving
Presidential
Citations for
Physical Fitness.
In 1992, they moved
back to Enid. She
was a 50-year member
of Eastern Star,
Rainbow and was
Worthy Matron of
White Shrine several
times.
Ama is survived by
her son, William
"Bill" Ted Russell,
Jr. of Enid,
daughter-in-law
Karen Russell; and
three grandchildren,
Holly Marie,
Christopher Todd and
Elizabeth Ann; and
several
great-grandchildren .
She was preceded in
death by her
husband Ted in
1995, daughter Ann
Louise Russell in
1963, one brother
and four sisters.
Memorials may be
made through the
funeral home to
Oklahoma Medical
Research Foundation
- Alzheimer's
division.
