A funeral service for
Ben Raleigh Dalke, age
95, of Enid, will be at
2:00 p.m. Monday, July
9, 2007, at the Calvary
Baptist Church, with the
Rev. Steve Williams and
Rev. Everett Ohls
officiating.
Burial will follow in
the Memorial Park
Cemetery under the
direction of
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
Ben was born
on July 7, 1911 in Enid,
Oklahoma to Peter L. and
Elizabeth (Regier) Dalke
and died on July 5, 2007
in Enid, Oklahoma.
He grew up in
Enid, and graduated from
Enid High School.
On March 11, 1934, he
married Meurle Lula
Scott in Bison, and they
made their home in Enid.
Due to his bad eye
sight, Ben could only
serve his country during
World War II as chief of
an all female flight
line crew at Enid Army
Air Base. He
worked for Union Equity
for thirty years, where
he was an Assistant
Supervisor of Elevator
B. Ben was a
member of Calvary
Baptist Church for
sixty-five years, where
he served as a deacon.
He is
survived by his wife,
Meurle of the home; two
sons, Bob Dalke and wife
Shirley of Enid, and
Gerald Dalke and wife
Gwen of Edmond, seven
grandchildren, Tami and
Bill Simon, Penny and
Danny Wicker, Jeff and
Misty Dalke, Robby Dalke,
Greg and Elaine Dalke,
Rick and Janet Howell,
and Tim and Rhonda
Koehn; twelve
great-grandchildren; and
four great, great
grandchildren.
Ben was
preceded in death by two
brothers, John and Ollie
Dalke.
Memorials may
be made through the
funeral home to Calvary
Baptist Church.
