A graveside Memorial Service for Billy Gene Turk, 78, of Bay City, Michigan, will be 11:00 A.M.  Monday, April 28, 2008, at the Ames Cemetery, with Rev. Jake Snodgrass officiating.  Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid.  The family will meet at Ames First Baptist Church after the service. 

            Billy was born to Archie and Maye (Bryant) Turk on April 10, 1929 in rural Hennessey, and passed away on Monday, April 7, 2008, at Brian’s Hospice House in Bay City, MI.

            Bill graduated from Loyal High School in 1947.  He had various jobs until he joined the Air Force in 1950.  He served in Korea, and got an honorable discharge in 1954.  Bill settled in Bay City, Michigan and opened the Arrow TV Shop with his brother, Robert Turk.  He moved back to Kingfisher and operated a TV repair shop for fifteen years before returning to Michigan.

            He is survived by his brother, Robert and wife Naomi Turk of Bay City, MI; sister Bettye and husband Ervin Hiebert of Halstead, KS; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

            Bill was preceded in death by his father, Archie Turk; his mother and step father Maye and John Jared; and sister Alice Everely.
