2010, at Central
Christian Church with
Rev. John McLemore, Rev.
Don Johnson, and Rev.
Tom Donaldson
officiating. A mass
will follow at 3:00 PM
at St. Francis Xavier
Church, with Rev. Leven
officiating.

Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
She was
born to Ted and Betty (Krausse)
Clickner on December 1,
1956, in Enid, and died
Monday, May 24, 2010 at
home surrounded by
family and friends after
a lengthy, courageous
battles with cancer.
Brenda
grew up in the
Pioneer-Douglas area.
She attended Douglas
Elementary School and
graduated from Pioneer
High School. She
attended Phillips
University on a
basketball scholarship
and received her
undergraduate and
graduate degree from
Oklahoma State
University. She married
David Brown on December
20, 1979, in
Stillwater.
Brenda
dedicated her life to
children by employment
at the Department of
Human Services for over
29 years, serving as a
supervisor and regional
program manager for
Oklahoma Child Care
Services for 27 of those
years. Her service to
children included many
accomplishments, awards,
and professional
memberships. In 1991
she was a finalist for
March of Dimes Woman of
the Year. In 1999, she
earned the Advocates for
Children Award, and in
2009 she received a
Distinguished Service
Award from Oklahoma
Early Childhood
Association. Brenda was
a charter member of
Wheat Capital Early
Childhood Association of
Oklahoma, Advocates for
Children Conference
Committee, and Garfield
County Safekids
Coalition, serving as
president and
chairperson of these
organizations for
several years.
She is
survived by her partner
and soul mate, Darrell
Herndon, of the home;
two daughters, Stephanie
Bonnett of Enid and Lori
Brown of Oklahoma City;
her mother Betty
Clickner of Douglas;
stepchildren Heather
Herndon of Oklahoma
City, Heath Herndon and
wife Danielle, and
granddaughter Peyton
Grace of Edmond; three
brothers, Les Clickner
and wife Sally of Enid,
John Clickner of
Marshall, and Gary
Clickner of Waukomis;
sister Carol Reinert and
husband Jerry of
Fairmont; and numerous
cousins, nieces and
nephews, who she enjoyed
playing with everytime
they got together.
Brenda
was preceded in death by
her father Ted Clickner
and grandparents.
