The funeral service
for Raymond William
Cambron, 92, of Wakita,
will be at 2:00 P.M.
Monday, March 9, 2009,
at Wakita Methodist
Church, with Rev. Kyle
Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in
Wakita Cemetery, with
arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
He was born to
Francis Xavier and Allie
Lee (Spratt) Cambron on
October 26, 1916 in
Wakita, and died
Wednesday, March 4,
2009, in Wakita.
Raymond grew up in
the Wakita area and
graduated from Gore High
School. He and his Dad
showed Guernsey cattle,
and they had the top
Guernsey herd in
Oklahoma. On August 24,
1941, he married Edna
Mae Ricker in Wakita.
Raymond then served in
the U.S. Air Corps. He
was a custom cutter for
twenty years, drove a
semi cross-country,
farmed, ran a dairy, and
built stock trailers.
He flew his own airplane
and was a member of
Flying Farmers. Raymond
was a member of Wakita
Methodist Church.
He is survived by one
son Ronald Cambron and
wife Mary of Enid; one
daughter Paula Maye
Cambron-Leedy of Mesa,
AZ; eight grandchildren;
fourteen
great-grandchildren; and
one sister Lucile Ransom
of Rosehill, KS.
He was preceded in
death by his wife Maye,
brother Charles, and two
sisters, Marie and
Allie.
Memorials may be
made through the funeral
home to O.M.R.F. – Heart
Division.
