   The funeral service for George H. Canady, age 78, will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 16, 2009, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dan O’Daniel officiating.  Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

   He was born to James Floyd and Faye Ethel (Thalls) Canady on December 22, 1930, in Erick, Oklahoma, and died Monday, January 12, 2009 at his home in Enid.

   George grew up in Sayre.  He served in the United States Army.  On August 31, 1973, he married Virginia “Cisi” Bateman in Woodward, and they made their home in Enid.  He was a horse trainer, independent car dealer, poker player, and gambler.   He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge.

   He is survived by his wife Cisi Canady of the home; two sons, Ron Canady and wife Judy of Oklahoma City, and Lyn Canady and wife Wanda Kay of Perry; four daughters, GiGi Clark of Enid, Carolynn Frye and husband Bob of Enid, Mona Bibbee of Waukomis, and Gina Bush and husband Roland of Enid; ten grandchildren, Steven Carr, Brandon Thomas, Mirisa Thomas, Kaylynne Canady, Matthew Bibbee, Andrew Bibbee, Hayleigh Yates, Cobee Clark, Samuel Parsons, and Harley Harmon; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Judith, Mary, Cookie and Ruby, all of Oklahoma.

     George was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, one granddaughter Caroline Canady, and one grandson Mark Frye.

     The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to the George Canady Funeral Fund at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home
