The funeral for
Jerry Thomas Coulter,
age 55, will be at 2:00
PM Saturday, December
12, 2009, at First
Church of the Nazarene,
with Rev. Bruce Johnson
officiating. Burial will
be in Rosehill Cemetery
in Carrier, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be
Friday evening from 6:00
to 7:30 PM at the
funeral home.
He was born to
Tedrowe and Jamie
(McDaniel) Coulter on
July 18, 1954, in Ponca
City, and died Tuesday,
December 8, 2009, at the
Cancer Treatment Center
in Tulsa.
Jerry grew up on
the family farm in the
Tonkawa area, and
attended school in
Tonkawa. His first job
was a Gleaner combine
mechanic. On April 20,
1974, he married Shelly
Jo Sparks in Enid, where
they made their
home. Jerry worked in
the oilfield for 35
years, starting as a rig
hand, and worked his way
to fishing tool
supervisor for
Weatherford
International, being
called all over the
United States from as
far as New York for his
expertise. Jerry
attended Enid First
Church of the Nazarene,
where he loved and
cherished his pastor and
the members. He enjoyed
working, fishing,
boating, skiing and
loved grilling. Jerry
enjoyed spending time
with his family, and was
a loving husband,
father, friend and Papa.
He is survived by
his wife Shelly Sparks
Coulter of the home; two
daughters, Shannon White
and husband Tom, and
their children Taylor
and Jackson; Laura
Coulter Hofferber and
husband Eric, all of
Enid; son Klinton Ross
Coulter of the home; and
many, many friends he
considered brothers.
Jerry was preceded
in death by his mother
Jamie McDaniel Coulter
Harris; father Tedrowe
Milton Coulter; sister
Mary Louise Coulter
Robson; step-mother
Sandra Bowles-Coulter;
son Jordan Thomas
Coulter; twin
granddaughters Hayley
Jae and Josie Rae
Hofferber.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to O.M.R.F. – Cancer
Division or First
Nazarene Forward in
Faith.
