The funeral service for Delmer Fredis Skidmore, age 90, will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Steve Meier officiating.  Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

He was born to William and Callie (Campbell) Skidmore on March 18, 1917, in Pineville, Arkansas, and died Friday, August 3, 2007, at his home in Enid.

Delmer grew up in Arkansas, and then moved to Garber.  He worked at the Knox Service Station. On May 31, 1940, he married Ruby Gordon Shelton in Covington.  After Delmer’s service in the United Stated Army during World War II, the family made their home in Covington oilfield.  He was employed and retired from Sinclair/Atlantic Richfield Oil Company in 1977.    They moved to Enid in 1980.  He enjoyed bowling and coaching baseball.  After his retirement, he was a successful cattleman, and he later worked with his daughter and wife at the Woodring Airport Restaurant.  He was a member of Garber First Baptist Church.

Delmer is survived by his wife Ruby of the home; one daughter, Karen Krausse and Larry of Enid; three sons, Larry Skidmore and Mary Ellen of Enid, Connie Skidmore of Broken Arrow, and Sherrie Skidmore of Enid, and Jerry Skidmore and partner Bruce Boan of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Callie; four brothers, Bob, Hayden, Norman and Udell; one sister Audrey Pfrimmer; and one great great grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Alzheimer’s Division or Ross Hospice.
