Graveside
service with full
military honors will be
at 11:20 P.M. June 30,
2008, at Southern Nevada
Veterans Cemetery in
Boulder City, Nevada.
He died Tuesday, June
17, 2008, at his home in
Enid.
Edgar
Dillard Brown, Jr. was
born in French Camp,
California on July 25,
1936 to Edgar D. Brown
and Grace Ruby (Stevens)
Brown. He went to
school in Stockton,
California. In 1954, he
joined the Air Force at
age 17. He was in Life
Support and traveled all
over for 23 years. He
married Yancee Lowe in
1962 in California, and
they had two sons,
Matthew and Gregory. He
served in Vietnam in
1971.
When
he retired from the Air
Force he accepted a
position with Northrop
Grumman and traveled to
Dhahran, Saudi Arabia to
train Saudi troops life
support for their
pilots. He married
Kathe Wagner in Bitburg,
Germany in 1978, and
they made their home in
Saudi Arabia for nine
years. She passed away
in 1996. He retired
from Northrop and went
to college and earned
his Master’s Degree in
Education. He taught
Technology for eight
years at Garside Junior
High School in Las
Vegas, Nevada. He
married Burma Reed in
1999, and they made
their home in Las
Vegas. He loved to
volunteer, and one of
the places he worked for
was Nellis AFB. He
worked in the pharmacy
for three years before
they moved to Enid,
Oklahoma. He was a
member of the Disabled
Veterans of America for
18 years. After moving
to Enid, he was active
in D.A.V. Chapter 66,
where he served as
Treasurer and drove a
van. He was also a
member of the Elks, Air
Force Sergeant’s
Association, and the
National Solar
Society.
He
leaves his wife Burma of
the home; his mother
Grace Brown of Las
Vegas, NV; sons, Matthew
Brown of Knoxville, IA,
and Gregory Burns of
Anchorage, AK; stepsons
Russell Wright of Enid,
OK, Ronald Wright and
Brian Wright of Las
Vegas, NV; three
sisters, Cora Sauls of
Pahrump, NV, Ruby Franks
and Jean Rice of Las
Vegas, NV; two brothers,
Ross Brown and Bobby
Brown of Spokane, WA;
four grandchildren; and
six step-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by his
father, his wife Kathe,
and his brother Fred
Brown.
Memorials
may be made to Hospice
Circle of Love or Relay
for Life.
