Services for Elsie
Mae Harman, 74, will be
2:00 PM, March 29, 2008
at Temple Baptist Church
with Pastor Kevin Strope
officiating. Burial
will follow at the
Karoma Cemetery, Goltry,
under the direction of
Anderson Burris Funeral
Home.
Elsie was born
September 13, 1933 in
Goltry, to George
William and Carrie Koons.
She went to be with
her Savior March 27,
2008.
She graduated from
Goltry High School and
on August 28, 1951, she
married Jerry Ray Harman
at the Zoar Mennonite
Church. They lived most
of their lives in
Enid and retired to the
Meno area. They
worshipped at Temple
Baptist Church.
She was saved at
the age of 10,
testifying of Jesus in
her life. She taught
Sunday School and Bible
School at the Enid
Christian Union Church
and held offices in the
CUWF. She was a second
mom to countless girls
including
The Shining
Lights. She was a
positive influence on
her children,
grandchildren and those
that knew her.
In 1992 she was
diagnosed with
sarcoidosis resulting in
the failing of her
kidneys, lungs, heart
and eye sight. She
suffered with intense
pain because of renal
failure and the disease
calciphylaxis, but now
pain free and with her
Lord.
She is survived by her
husband, Jerry Harman
and two daughters:
Cynthia Brown, Teena
Newton and husband
Robert; one brother,
Leon Koons and wife
Catherine; one sister,
Bonnie Koons and husband
Dyrl Theon; three
grandchildren and
spouses: Jeremy Brown,
Joshua &
Julie Brown, Kara
& George Regier, and
three
great-grandchildren:
Ellianne, Ethan and Evan
Brown.
She was preceded
in death by her parents;
two brothers, Elgin and
Eugene Koons; and
son-in-law,
David Brown.
