A funeral service for Ester May Reiswig, 92 year old Beaver resident, will be Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Beaver, with the Reverends David Glascock and Rick Main officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bluemound Cemetery, south of Balko under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at the First Christian Church, Beaver.

Ester was born on April 29, 1915 to Charley and Elise May (Clark) Stagner and died on October 7, 2007 in Beaver, Oklahoma.  She grew up in Beaver County and graduated from high school in Taber, Iowa.  She graduated from college in Alva, Oklahoma and received her Master’s of Education from Oklahoma University.  Ester married Lester Hood and they had one daughter, Elsa Ferne.  She later married Ralph Reiswig and they had two sons, Roy and Lawrence.   Ester taught school for over 36 years in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas, before retiring. 

She was a former member of the Nazarene Church, an active member of the Beaver First Christian Church, Retired Teacher’s Association, Eastern Star, Rebekahs, Beaver County Historical Society, and the Beaver community concerts.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, step-father, one brother, and several stepbrothers.

Ester is survived by her children and their spouses, Elsa Ferne & George Martin, Beaver, Roy & Georgia Reiswig of Glendale, Arizona, and Lawrence & Bonnie Reiswig of Greeley, Colorado; one brother and his wife, Paul & Stella Noe of Littleton, Colorado; two sisters, Thelma Barklow of California and Fae Lingle of Englewood, Colorado; 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and 9 great great great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Alzheimer’s Division.
