A funeral service for
Frank M. Stoddard, age
85, of Enid, will be on
Monday September 15,
2008 at 10:00 a.m. at
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev.
Alvin Dalton
officiating. Burial
will follow in Memorial
Park Cemetery with the
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
Frank was born to
William and Ida
(Haskins) Stoddard on
June 25, 1923 in
Franklin, Oregon and
died on Thursday
September 11, 2008 in
Enid.
He grew up in Redding
California and graduated
from Anderson High
School. He then served
in the Army during
WWII. After Frank’s
discharge he moved to
Cocoran, California
where he worked as a
caterpillar driver. On
September 7, 1951 he
married Shirley A.
Sprangler in Casgrandy,
Arizona. They later
moved to Bradley,
Oklahoma and then
Lindsey, Oklahoma where
he worked for JR
Trucking as a driver.
Frank then moved to
Blair, Oklahoma where he
worked as a mechanic.
In December 1963 they
moved to Enid where they
made their home, and he
was employed by Enid
Metal and Iron. He was
a member of the House of
Prayer. Frank was a
loving devoted husband
and wonderful father.
He is survived by his
wife Shirley of the
home; a son Frank
Stoddard, Jr. of Enid;
four daughters Barbara
Lovely of Helena, Betty
Winters and husband Ken
of Skellytown, TX., Pat
McDaniel of Edmond, and
Ida Larson and husband
Lawry of Greenbay, WI.;
a sister Jeanie Stoddard
of Las Vegas, NV;
thirty-two
grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren: and
three
great-great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in
death by a daughter
Frances Longan, two
sons, Ronald and Donald
Shields, four brothers,
and two sisters.
