The funeral
service for Marie Elsie
George, age 90, will be
at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday,
July 22, 2009, at the
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel, with Pastor
Dan Barrick officiating.
Burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery,
with arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be
Tuesday 6:00 PM to 7:30
PM at the funeral home.
She was born to
Cyrus and Mable
(Nichols) Stutchman on
June 30, 1919, in Paris,
Arkansas, and died
Sunday, July 19, 2009,
in Enid.
Marie grew up in
Alix, Arkansas and
graduated from Coal High
School. She was in the
school glee club and
played on the basketball
team. Marie attended
Southwestern Bible
College in Enid. On
June 28, 1944, she
married Thomas Loyal
George in Alix, and they
later made their home in
Enid. Marie was a
homemaker and enjoyed
gardening and flowers.
She was a member of The
Friendly Homemakers Home
Demonstration Club.
Marie was an active
member of Enid First
Assembly of God Church,
working in the women’s
and children’s
department for many
years.
She is survived
by her daughter, Sharon
Christian and husband
Clyde of Springdale, AR;
two sons, David George
and wife Louise of El
Reno, and Daniel George
and wife Cheryl of
Ardmore; six
grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren;
brother Rex Stutchman of Atlanta,
GA; step-sister Jane
Dasher of Ozark, AR; and
many nieces and
nephews.
Marie was
preceded in death by her
husband Loyal in 2007;
four brothers, Bill,
Carl, Harley and Raymond
Stutchman; three
step-brothers; and one
step-sister.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to First Assembly of God
Church Scholarship
Fund.
