"Irene" Arnhart, age 91,
will be held at a later
date. Cremation
arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home and Crematory.
She was born to Ruben
and Lillie (Leonard)
Simpson on February 5,
1916, in Aurora,
Missouri, and died
Sunday, February 18,
2007, in Enid.
Gertrude grew up in Hominy
and Oilton, and attended
schools there. On
September 25, 1933, she
married Claude B. Arnhart in Drumright,
Oklahoma. He became a
minister with the First
Church of God in 1948,
and they pastored
churches in Pauls
Valley, Waynoka, Hobart,
Ripley, Gage, Miraloma, California and Kinsley,
Kansas. They retired in
Woodward before moving
to Enid in 1998. She
resided at The Commons
in Enid at the time of
her death.
She is survived by one
daughter, Barbara S.
Walker of Enid; three
sons, James R. Arnhart
of Valencia, CA, Larry
D. Arnhart of Mabank,
TX, Tommy L. Arnhart of
Springboro, OH; one
sister, Grace Campana of
Banning, CA; ten
grandchildren; and
eleven
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her husband
Claude on November 30,
1999, two brothers, Otho
Simpson and Jesse R.
Simpson; and two
sisters, Mary Ringgold
and Lucille Pierlot. |
