A Memorial Mass for John
William Gnoth, age 75,
will be at 12:00 noon,
Tuesday, July 29, 2008
at St. Francis Xavier
Catholic Church, with
Rev. Kevin Ratterman and
Deacon Tony Crispo
officiating. Cremation
arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home and Crematory.
Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery.
He was born to
William Henry and Ellen
I. (Schneck) Gnoth on
August 4, 1932, in South
Bend, Indiana, and died
Wednesday, July 23,
2008, at Integris Bass
Baptist Heath Center in
Enid.
John grew up in
South Bend, Indiana and
graduated from Riley
High School. He then
served in the United
States Air Force during
the Korean War. After
his honorable discharge,
he worked for Surveyors
at Vance Air Force Base
as a mechanic. He then
worked for many years at
Marlatt Auto Supply. He
married Betty Jean
Summers on March 16,
1982 in Albuquerque, New
Mexico., and they made
their home in Enid. In
1998, he began working
for Southwest Truck.
He was a member of St.
Francis Xavier Catholic
Church.
He is survived by
his wife Betty of the
home; six children, Jan
Hammock and husband Jack
of Enid, Denise Beck and
husband Kevin of
Norwich, KS, Matt Gnoth
and wife Lisa of Garden
City, KS, Deana Thompson
and husband Steve of
Driftwood, OK, Debra
Hays and husband Jeff of
Jerome, Idaho, and Tony
Ferrell of Medford;
eleven grandchildren;
six step-grandchildren;
ten great-grandchildren;
and several step great
grandchildren.
John was preceded
in death by his parents
and one brother.
Memorials may be made to
Oklahoma Blood Institute
or Oklahoma Medical
Research Foundation –
Heart Division.
