funeral service for
Gordon Leon Strickler,
age 78, will be at 3:00
P.M. Sunday, October 21,
2007, at the
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel, with Pastor
Dan O’Daniel
officiating.
Burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery,
with arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
Gordon was born to
Gordon Herbert and
Gladys Lois (McGrew)
Strickler on December
12, 1928 in Enid, and
died Thursday, October
18, 2007, in Enid.
He attended schools
in Enid, Hayward, CA,
and Chickasaw, and
later graduated from
Phillips University.
On December 12, 1952, he
married Icefeene Hall in
Enid. He was the
owner of Wheat Shock and
the manager of Belvedere
Club. He then worked at
Pillsbury Mills and
later Champlin Refinery
before his retirement.
He was a member of the
Moose, AmVets, and Enid
Coin Club. He
attended Chisholm Trail
Cowboy Church and
traveled extensively.
Gordon is survived
by his wife Icefeene of
the home; daughter Jana
“Susie” Nichols and
husband Jim of Boise,
Idaho; two
grandchildren, Adam
Nichols of Boise, ID,
and Jena Phillips of
Chandler, AZ; two
great-grandchildren; and
one sister Patricia
Fuller of Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in
death by his parents,
two brothers, and one
sister.
Memorials may be
made through the funeral
home to Chisholm Trail
Cowboy Church.
