     The funeral service for Donna Rose McDowell Hammock, age 78, will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

     She was born to Waldo and Agnes (Durgan) McDowell on April 9, 1931, in Ames, and died Saturday, June 27, 2009, in Guthrie.

     Donna grew up in Ames and graduated from Ames High School.  On August 12, 1950, she married John Hammock in Ames.  After John’s military service, they settled in Enid.  Donna was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and making her children’s clothes.

    She is survived by two sons, John “Jack” Hammock and wife Jan of Enid, Bill Hammock and wife Karen of Enid; one daughter Debbie Prather and husband Marc of Guthrie; seven grandchildren, Tracey, Zack, Regi, Samantha, Alex, Steven and Riley; five great-grandchildren, Madisen, Gibson, Ian, Jaden and Hudson; one brother Eddie McDowell and wife Sue of Enid; two sisters, Glenna Simpson and husband Jim of Helena, Montana, and Veta Munns and husband Mike of San Antonio, Texas;  son-in-law David Ussery of Clearwater, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

    Donna was preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Lynn Ussery, infant son; sister Joyce McDowell,  brother Mac McDowell, and granddaughter Mallory

    Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Companion Hospice of Guthrie.
