      The funeral for Janet Deann Harbeson, 59, will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating.  Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. in the IOOF Cemetery at Ponca City.  Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

       She was born to Jay Claude Behar on June 18, 1950, in Wichita, KS, and died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at her home in Enid, after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer.

       Janet grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School.  On Feb. 2, 1973, she married James “Jim” R. Harbeson in Ponca City.  She worked as an accounts receivable clerk at Conoco for over twenty years.  Janet raised and was very involved with her children and loved spending time with family, and she loved her dogs.

       She is survived by her husband Jim of the home; three daughters, Casey Powers and husband Garrin of Vass, NC, Angela Harbeson of Fort Worth, TX, and Jimin Hicks and husband Clinton of Enid; one son Jay Harbeson of Enid; six grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Powers, Drew Harbeson, Bryce Franklin, Triston and Peyton Hicks; two brothers, Steve Hixon and wife Wendy, and John David Sanders; four sisters, Sharon Morrison and husband Jerry, Shelly Muhllenbeck, Monique Muhllenbeck, and Suzie Sanders; and numerous other family members and friends.

       Janet was preceded in death by her father, grandmother Carolyn Smith, and aunt LaDoris Francis. 

       Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Relay for Life or Hospice Circle of Love.
