Johnny “Dallas” Harris
was born on November 11,
1970, in Plainview,
Texas, and died
unexpectedly on Sunday,
January 11, 2009, in
Enid.
Dallas
moved with his parents,
Les and Linda Harris, to
McCook, Nebraska in
1976. He played
football in high
school. Dallas was in
the Oklahoma National
Guard from 1989 to
1995. On October 12,
1991, he married Tina
Major in Muskogee. He
then served in the
United States Army from
1995 to 1997, stationed
at Fort Sill. Dallas
loved fishing, hunting,
boating, snow skiing,
and traveling. He
coached his son Seth’s
soccer and football
teams in Enid and
Kremlin. Dallas worked
for Supported Community
Lifestyles as a
caregiver, and attended
Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are
his son Seth Harris of
Enid; his parents Les
and Linda Harris of
Corinth, TX; two
sisters, Mechele
Krannawitter of Waco,
TX, and Kelsey Harris of
Edmond; grandparents
Aaron and Beverly Dye of
Desert Hot Springs, CA;
aunts and uncles; and numerous
relatives and friends.
He was preceded
in death by his
biological father, John
Gay; his grandparents,
L.D. and Juanita Hill;
grandfather Jess Harris;
and uncles Wilton and
Dwayne Hill.
Funeral
Services will be held at
10:00 AM Friday, Jan.
16, 2009, at
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel, with Rev.
Marilyn Murray
officiating. Burial
will be at 3:00 PM in
the Grady Cemetery,
17 miles east of Ryan, OK. Visitation
with the family will be
Thursday 7:00 to 8:30 PM
at the Anderson-Burris
Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to Seth Harris Education
Fund.
