A funeral service for
Harry Mason DeHaas, 79
year old Garber
resident, will be 10:00
a.m. Monday, October 9,
2006 in the Community
Church of the Plains
with Reverend J. Randal
Hackworth officiating.
Graveside service will
be at 2:30 p.m. Monday
in the Highland
Cemetery, Pawnee,
Oklahoma under the
direction of
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home, Enid. Visitation
with the family will be
Sunday from 4:00 p.m.
until 5:30 p.m. at the
funeral home.
Harry was born on April
10, 1927 in Pawnee,
Oklahoma to Thomas E.
and Annie (Bruner)
DeHaas and died on
October 5, 2006 in
Enid. He graduated from
Wagner High School and
enlisted into the U.S.
Army. Following his
discharge, he moved to
the Bristow area. It
was there that he met
Grace Lee, and they were
married on April 24,
1950 in Cushing,
Oklahoma. They lived in
Drumright, Covington,
and Plainville, Kansas,
before making their home
in Garber in 1960.
Harry was a pumper for
Sinclair and later Arco
Gas & Oil for a total of
28 years, before he
retired. He loved to
hunt, fish, gardening,
and building replicas of
houses and buildings.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; one
brother, E.L. DeHaas;
two sisters, Anna Bell
DeHaas and Flora Ida
DeHaas.
He is survived by his
devoted wife, Grace of
the home; two sons and
their wives, Orville and
Sherri DeHaas of Perry,
OK, and Edward and Mary
DeHaas of Lewisville,
Texas; 8 grandchildren,
12 great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, and
other relatives.

through the funeral home
to the Community Church
of the Plains – building
