The funeral service for
Hugh Burton Blaser, age
83, will be at 2:00 P.M.
Thursday, November 2,
2006, at Garber First
Baptist Church, with
Pastor Tom LeGrand
officiating. Burial
will be in the Garber
Cemetery with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
He was born to Steven F.
and Silver Bryan
“Sisson” Blaser on
September 14, 1923, in
Garber, and died Monday,
October 30, 2006, in
Enid.
Hugh grew up in Garber
and attended Garber
schools. He then served
in the United States
Army. On December 8,
1948, he married Dorothy
L. Wood in Enid, and
they made their home in
Garber. He was employed
at Long’s John Deere as
a mechanic and also was
a farmer. Hugh was a
member of First Baptist
Church in Garber, where
he served as a deacon
and treasurer for forty
years. He enjoyed
woodworking.
He is survived by three
daughters, Linda Farr,
Elaine Voth and husband
Dale, and Peggy Froese
and husband Mike, all of
Enid; six grandchildren;
seven
great-grandchildren; and
two sisters, Marjorie
Rowton of Haysville, KS,
and Mary Tigert of
Altus, OK.
Hugh was preceded in
death by his wife,
Dorothy, son –in-law
Fred Farr, and four
brothers.
The family will be at
313 Rosanne in Enid.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to Garber First Baptist
Church or Oklahoma
Medical Research
Foundation – Diabetes
Division.
