A funeral service for
James William “Curly”
Floyd, age 80, of Enid,
will be at 2:00 P.M.
Saturday, October 14,
2006 at the Abundant
Life Temple, with Rev.
David Robinson, Al
Cascioli, and Rev. Ron
Olson officiating.
Burial will follow in
the Memorial Park
Cemetery with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family be Friday
6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the
funeral home.
He was born
on March 17, 1926 in
Thackerville, Oklahoma,
and died Thursday,
October 12, 2006 in
Enid.
James grew
up in Enid and joined
the United States Navy;
he later graduated from
Clinton High School.
James then moved back to
Enid and attended the
Enid Business College,
and worked for Bond
Bakery. On August 25,
1978 in Thomas, Oklahoma
he married Wanda Euelene
Gough Yount Vaughn.
James worked for the
Enid State School for 23
years as supply clerk,
retiring in 1988. He
loved to travel, sing
with “The
Barbershoppers” for 20
years, and he enjoyed
spending time with his
grandchildren.
James is
survived by his wife
Wanda Euelene of the
home; a step-son, Randy
& his wife LouWana Yount
of Piedmont; a
step-daughter, Kathy
Damron of Des Moines,
Iowa; two grandchildren,
Erin Michelle Yount of
Dallas, Texas, and
Matthew Aaron Yount of
Enid; a nephew, Phil
Switzer of Houston,
Texas; and a niece Jo
Karen Gunkel of
Eldorado, Oklahoma.
James is
preceded in death by his
parents, and 3 sisters.
