    The funeral service for Raymond G. Jennings, age 75, of Enid, will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday March 16, 2009 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randal Hackworth and Pastor Walter Martinez officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.  A visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

     Raymond was born to Raymond Arthur and Hannah (Hodgson) Jennings on June 4, 1933 in Chicago, Ill, and died on Friday, March 13, 2009 in Enid.

     He grew up in Chicago, and graduated from Carrier High School, and then he served in the United States Army.  On November 23, 1956 he married Ruth Ann Kappel in Wellington, Kansas, and they made their home in Enid.  Later they moved to Chicago, Ill and back to Enid in 1970.  Raymond worked as an electrician at the Enid State School, which later became NORCE.  He retired from NORCE after working for over twenty years.  He was very active in the Pioneer Pleasant Vale Lions Club, where he served all offices, he was a District III A Governor, and served on the eye bank board in Oklahoma City.  Raymond was an active volunteer for Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in the Radiation Department, and involved with Relay for Life.

     Raymond is survived by his wife Ruth Ann of the home; two daughters Valerie Farmer and husband Joey of Dallas, TX, and Deborah Smith of Austin, TX; four grandchildren Jeffrey Smith, Jennifer Smith, Brenna Farmer, and Braden Farmer; one sister Willa Dean Dowers of Enid; and several nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Margaret Ann Jennings.

     Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Lions Service Foundation or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Cancer Division.
