A graveside
service for Joe Freeman
Daniel, age 79, of Enid,
will be at 1:00 P.M.
Wednesday, December 31,
2008, at the Lexington,
OK Cemetery.
Arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
He was born
to Henry and Adeline
(Conley) Daniel on
August 22, 1929, in
Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and
died Sunday, December
28, 2008, at his home in
Enid.
Joe
graduated from Purcell
High School and attended
the University of
Oklahoma. He served in
the United States Army
during the Korean War.
On November 29, 1958, he
married Irma J.
Burmeister in Chickasha,
and they made their home
in Arkansas City, KS.
They moved to Enid in
1988. He was a
clerk/agent for Frisco
Railroad, which became
Burlington Northern
Railroad, where he
worked for forty-two
years until his
retirement. Joe was an
avid sports fan. In
1947, while attending
Purcell High School, he
made the Oklahoma
All-State Baseball
Team. He was a member
of the Railroad Museum
of Oklahoma, American
Legion, and the 28th
General Hospital Army
Veteran’s Unit.
He is
survived by two
daughters, Jean Slaven
and husband Earl of
Arkansas City, KS, and
Sally Daniel of Ft.
Worth, TX; two
grandchildren, Sherry
McNaught and husband Joe
of Edmond and Candi
Bailey and husband Scott
of Chickasha; and one
great grandson Zachary
McNaught.
Joe was
preceded in death by his
parents; wife Irma on
October 2, 2008; son
Robert J. Hauger; two
brothers Tom and Curt
Daniel; and three
sisters, Cornelia Peed,
Sally Burton and Lou Ann
Kerns.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to Y.W.C.A. Crisis
Center.
