A funeral service for John Robert Kretchmar, age 85, of Enid, will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday February 15, 2007 at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Kevin Ratterman and Rev. Ernest Flusche officiating.  Private burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

            John was born to Joe and Kate (Hein) Kretchmar on January 25, 1922, in Grant County, Oklahoma and died on February 12, 2007 in Enid, at Golden Oaks.

            John served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II.  He worked as a grain inspector, retiring in 1986.  He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Mens Garden Club.

            He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gene of the home; one brothers, Joe Kretchmar of Medford, Oklahoma; one sister, Pauline Davis of Rogers, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Raymond, and Clifford.
