A memorial service for Richard Eugene Jones, age 79, will be held at a later date in Colorado.  Rev. Bob Jones will officiate.  Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

     He was born to Wilson Harvey and Rosa (Slusher) Jones on July 20, 1929, in Hawthorne, California, and died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

     Richard grew up and attended school at Perris, California.  On June 30, 1950, he married Lorna Plowman in Yuma, Arizona, and they made their home in Elsinore, California.  He worked in the construction industry.  He moved to Enid sixteen years ago and was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church.  He also worked with the Missionary Task Force, helping build churches.

     He is survived by three sons, Rick Jones of Centennial, Colorado, Mike Jones of Aurora, Colorado, and Greg Jones of Thornton, Colorado; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother Bob Jones of Auburn, California; and two sisters, Patricia Saffell of Temecula, California, and Carolyn McDonald of Folsom, California.

     Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorna, and one sister.
