A Memorial Mass for
Christopher Scott Jones,
age 53, will be at 5:00
P.M. Thursday, April 23,
2009, at St. Francis
Xavier Catholic Church,
with Rev. Kevin
Ratterman officiating. A
reception celebrating
his life will be held at
6:30 P.M. following the
mass at Enid Symphony
Hall. A visitation with
family and friends will
be Wednesday from 7:00
to 8:30 P.M. at the
Snyder Home at 1322
Indian Drive.
He was born to Kaye Dee
and Leah (Nelson) Jones
on February 8, 1956, in
Los Angeles, CA, and
died Saturday, April 18,
2009, at his home in
Enid.
Chris grew up in Enid.
He attended St. Joseph’s
School for six years and
graduated from Enid High
School. He attended
O.S.U. for two years,
and then graduated from
O.U. with a B.S. Degree
in Architecture. Chris
moved to Chicago in
1980, where he worked
for Carson Pirie Scott
and Marshall Field
stores as a Display
Artist and Interior
Designer, and attended
the Chicago American
Academy of Design. He
moved back to Enid in
2001, and was on the
Arts and Humanity
Council, President of
Enid Symphony Auxiliary,
member of Enid Symphony
Board of Directors. He
curated shows at the
Cherokee Strip Museum,
and coordinated the
architecture tour.
He is survived by his
mother Leah Jones of
Enid; uncles Arnold
Nelson of Chicago, Jerry
Jones of Reno, Nevada
and Jon Jones of
Starkville, Mississippi;
aunt Millie and Ray
Bernard of Las Vegas;
and many friends.
Chris is preceded in
death by his twin
brother Kevin Dee, and
father Kaye.
