            A funeral for Kenneth Simpson, age 91, will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at First Baptist church in Covington, with Rev. Jody Schmidt officiating.  Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.

            He was born to Addie Basham and Iona Victoria (Fields) Simpson on June 25, 1915, on the family farm in Garber, and died Sat. Sept. 23, 2006, at his home in Covington.

            He grew up and attended country schools in the Garber area.  On Oct. 12, 1935, he married Esther Boepple in Enid, and they made their home in the Garber-Covington area.   He was a farmer and worked in construction.  Kenneth also worked for the railroad, and worked for the school as a custodian and bus driver.  He was employed with Ditch Witch in Perry until his retirement in 1982.

            He is survived by his wife Esther of the home; three daughters, Patsy Wilhite of Jet, Linda Wilson of Burleson, TX, and Donna Burroughs and husband Billy of Enid; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Eph, Albert, Harold and Joe Bill Simpson; six sisters, Gladys Wade, Hazel Worthy, Florence Worthy, Blanch Thomas, Ethyl McFarland and Alice Tibbs; one son-in-law, Larry Wilson; and one grandson, Paul Griffin.

            Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Ross Hospice of Enid or Covington First Baptist Church.  Condolences may be made on-line at www.andersonburris.com.
