A funeral service
for Kent Gordon Alwert,
age 65, of Fairmont,
will be at 3:00 P.M.
Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006,
at the Zion Lutheran
Church in Fairmont, with
Rev. Timothy Dorsch
officiating.
Burial will be in Zion
Lutheran Cemetery,
Fairmont, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
Kent was born
to Delbert Arlien and
Sylvia Marie (Helberg)
Alwert on March 4, 1941,
in Enid, and died
Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006,
at his home in Fairmont.
He attended
schools in Fairmont and
Garber, graduating from
Garber High School.
He served in the United
States Navy. On
August 28, 1964, he
married Hazel Marie
Roark in Enid, and they
made their home in
Fairmont. He
worked for Pope
Distributing Company for
forty years, where he
was a sales manager.
He was the founder and
historian for the Buck
and Bow Club, and a
member of the American
Legion. Kent was a
member of Zion Lutheran
Church and served on the
stewardship committee.
Kent is
survived by his wife,
Hazel of the home; son
Tony Arlien Alwert and
wife Lisa of Fairmont;
daughter Shawn Marie
Freie and husband Brad
of Cyril; five
grandchildren, Garrett,
Bailey and Braden Alwert,
Kohl Murray, and Tucker
Freie; one brother
Robert Alwert and wife
Loretta of Enid ;
and one sister Moonene
Blaser of Enid.
He was
preceded in death
by his parents, Delbert
and Sylvia Alwert, and
brother Don Alwert.
Memorials may
be made through the
funeral home to Zion
Lutheran Church, Hospice
Circle of Love, or Relay
for Life.
