The funeral for Josephine Knapik, age 99, will be in Amsterdam, NY at a later date.  She passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Greenbrier Nursing Home, where she had lived since moving to Enid in 2006 to be near family.  Josephine was very happy at Greenbrier, where she received wonderful care.  She enjoyed making new friends there, and being close to her family.

     Josephine was born October 12, 1909 in Amsterdam, NY to Max and Mary Dybas Knapik.  After retiring from the clothing business, she moved to Albany, NY in the early 1970’s.

     She is survived by nephews, Jay Knapik of Enid and Michael Knapik, of Arlington, VA; niece Lisa Hodges of Oklahoma City, and sister-in-law, Dolores Knapik of Enid.  She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

     Josephine was a loving aunt and will be missed by her family and friends.  Local arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
