The graveside service
for Phyllis Irene
Hempfling Lange, age 79,
of Enid, will be at 2:00
P.M. Thursday at
Fairlawn Cemetery in
Stillwater.
Arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
She was born to
Charles Ellis and Ruby (Gudgel)
Keller on February 17,
1929, in Stillwater, and
died Tuesday, January
20, 2009, at Integris
Bass Hospital in Enid.
Phyllis grew up
and attended school in
Stillwater. She married
Eugene Roberts in 1946.
They had one son, Gary.
She married Charles
Hempfling in 1948, and
they made their home in
Perry. They had four
sons, David, Warren,
Chris and Phil. Phyllis
helped manage the family
business, Hempfling
Radio and TV, while
raising five boys. She
later married Garry
Lange in 1973. He
passed away in 1988.
Phyllis worked as a
waitress at the Hendrie
House for many years.
After she retired, she
enjoyed gardening and
took pride in being able
to mow her own yard
until she was well into
her 70s.
She is survived by
five sons of whom she
was very proud, Gary
Roberts and wife Gigi of
Sunderland, NE, David
Hempfling and wife Linda
of Enid, Warren
Hempfling and wife Nancy
of Enid, Chris Hempfling
and wife Linda of Lahoma,
and Phil Hempfling and
wife Sharrel of Enid;
nine grandchildren;
seventeen
great-grandchildren; one
brother Ted Keller of
Roff; and one sister
Virginia DeLong of
Stillwater.
Phyllis was
preceded in death by her
parents, two brothers,
one sister, two
husbands, one
granddaughter and one
grandson.
