            The funeral service for Lavaida Mary Keahey, age 92, will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Central Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Kevin Ward officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

            She was born to David and Ola Mary (Phipps) Noah on August 24, 1915, in Olmitz, Iowa, and died Friday, May 23, 2008, at Greenbrier Nursing Home in Enid.

            Lavaida grew up in West Point, Iowa, and graduated from high school there.  She then moved to the Garber-Covington area to live with her brother, Rev. Hal Noah, who was the pastor of the Garber-Covington Assembly of God Church.  This is where she met Darrel Keahey, and they were married on May 8, 1938.  The family lived in various places and eventually made their home in Enid.  Lavaida was an active member of Central Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday School for thirty-five years.  She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

            She is survived by three sons, Dennis Lee Keahey and wife Darlene of Tumwater, WA, Duwane Earl Keahey and wife Joyce of Lake Kiowa, TX, and Larry Don Keahey and wife Phyllis of Tumwater, WA; nine grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and one brother Lyle Noah of Dallas.

            Lavaida was preceded in death by her husband Darrel in 2000; two brothers Steve and Hal Noah; one sister Lavanda Coons; and two great grandsons, David Solomon Nauveau Gabrielse and Michael Alexander Rydrych.

            Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Central Assembly of God Church.
