     A graveside service for Joyce Pearl Lee, 76 of Ames, will be Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Park Chapel with the Reverend Vernon Lee officiating.  Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid.

     Joyce was born on March 2, 1933 in Ames, Oklahoma to Vernard Talmage and Gladys Irene (Raser) Hand and died on July 19, 2009 at her home.

     She grew up in Ames and graduated from Ames High School.  When she was a teenager, she was baptized at the Ames Christian Church. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator. On July 20, 1952, Joyce married Clayton C. Lee at her parents’ home in Ames. Joyce and Clayton made their home on the family farm, and she became a full time housewife. Joyce loved to bake, travel, take care of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling and painting the rental properties. Joyce and Clayton are members of Davis Park Christian Church.

     Joyce is survived by her husband Clayton of the home: son Bryan W. Lee of Enid; daughter Jeanice Adams of Spavinaw, OK; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernard and Gladys Hand, sister Marie Austin White, and brother Buddy Hand. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Ames Fire Department.
