The funeral for
Mona Lyn Lefler, 47, of
Enid, will be at 2:00 PM
Monday, Oct. 19, 2009,
at Anderson-Burris
Funeral Home Chapel,
with Rev. J.R. Ools
officiating. Burial
will be in Covington
Cemetery with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be
Sunday evening from 5:00
- 7:00 P.M. at the
funeral home.
She was born to
Elzner Roy and Virginia
(Bateman) Yates on Dec.
29, 1961, in Enid, and
went home to be with her
Lord Thursday, Oct. 15,
2009, at St. Mary’s
Medical Center in Enid.
She grew up in
Enid and attended school
at Chisholm. Mona
married at a young age,
and raised her five
children. On April 18,
2009, she married Howard
D. Lefler and they made
their home in Enid.
Mona was a wise, loving,
compassionate woman,
wife, daughter, sister,
mother and grandmother.
Mona had a witty sense
of humor and she loved
to play pool, dance, all
types of music,
literature & writing,
and enjoyed all with the
people she loved and
cared about. Her
favorite color was
always sunshine yellow,
whether it be a flower
or a car. She had the
biggest heart of any
human and always cheered
and took up for the
underdog. She will be
dearly missed by all who
really knew her and
loved her. Mom, you
will for always be in
our hearts.
Mona is survived
by her husband Howard of
the home; her mother
Cisi Canady of Enid; 5
children, Brandon Thomas
and wife Crystal, Mirisa
Thomas, Matthew Bibbee,
Andrew Bibbee, and Sam
Parsons, all of Enid; 3
grandchildren, Bradan,
Jordan and Aubrianna
Thomas; 3 sisters,
Carolynn Ranae Frye,
Gina Marie Bush, and
GiGi Clark, all of Enid;
step-brother Lyn Canady
of Perry; 1 niece and 2
nephews.
She was preceded
in death by her father
Elzner Roy Yates,
step-father George
Canady, grandparents,
and nephew Mark Andrew
Frye.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to St. Jude’s Children’s
Hospital.
