She was born

Lee (Larimer) Rose on
January 20, 1927, in
Hunter, and died Friday,

Mary’s Regional Health
Center in Enid.
Loretta grew up on a
farm and attended a
one-room country school
and then graduated from
Lamont High School.
When World War II began,
all the farm hands left
to serve in the service,
so Loretta worked along
side her father on the
family farm. When
he became ill and unable
to work, Loretta and her
mother continued to take
care of the farm and the
cattle. She
attended Northern
Oklahoma College,
Phillips University and
took many correspondence
courses. In 1972, she
married James E. Pease
in Chickasha. They
operated a heavy
equipment business,
where Loretta learned
about dozers, scrapers
and semi trucks.
She played the piano and
violin. At age
five, she played for the
country school children
to march. She also
loved singing, and
enjoyed singing with the
Keenage Chorale at the
First United Methodist
Church, where she was a
member. She also
participated in the
Methodist Women’s
Circle, and taught
Kindergarten Sunday
School Class for several
years. Loretta was
a life member of the
Eastern Star and
American Legion
Auxiliary. She was
also a member of many
historical societies in
Nebraska, Kansas and
Oklahoma. Loretta
enjoyed gardening,
genealogy and fishing.
She loved quilting, and
hand-quilted a quilt for
each grandchild.
She is survived by her
friend and longtime
companion, James Pease;
son Dennis McAlister and
wife Rita of Cordell;
daughter Ella Olivia
Moore and husband David
of Edmond; nine
grandchildren, Ashton
and Chris Moore, Mary
and Emily Mitchell,
Nathan, Jeromy, Chad,
Amy and Angela
McAlister; five
great-grandchildren,
Noah, Christian, Randam,
Alex and Bailey; and
three nieces.
Loretta was
preceded in death by her
parents, son Steven
Mitchell, and sister
Violet Chisholm.
Memorials may
be made through the
funeral home to Oklahoma
Medical Research
Foundation – Diabetes
Division.
