The funeral for Eda
“Eadie” Mae Lowenhaupt,
94 year old Enid
resident will be at 2:00
p.m. on Wednesday,
January 27, 2010 at the
First Presbyterian
Church with the Rev. Roy
Schneider officiating.
Burial will follow in
Enid Cemetery under the
direction of
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
She was born October 11,
1915 in Konowa, Oklahoma
the daughter of Edwin E.
and Lonie V. (Rippetoe)
Hayes and died January
22, 2010 at her home.
Eadie grew up and
attended school in
Little Rock, Arkansas.
Eadie attended Munson
Business College in San
Francisco, California.
Following Business
College Eadie worked as
an office manager for a
Doctor.
She
married Roy D. Kingdon in 1944 in Chicago, Illinios. She and her
husband Roy first
resided in San Francisco
then moved to Point
Clear, Alabama where
they operated a family
business. Roy died in
1955.
Eadie
married Morton
Lowenhaupt on April 2,
1962 in Pascagoula,
Mississippi. She and
Morton lived in Enid,
and spent the summers at
their home in Colorado
Springs, Colorado.
Morton passed away on
November 17, 1988.
Eadie was
a member of the First
Presbyterian Church, and
their Presbyterian
Women’s Church Circle
Two. She was also
active in many Enid
organizations and clubs
including, Chapter Q PEO,
the Fine Arts Club of
Enid, YWCA, Cherry Red
Ladies of St. Mary’s
Hospital Auxiliary and
the Oakwood Country
Club. While she was in
Colorado she was a
member of the Garden of
Gods Club of Colorado
Springs and Broadmoor
Christian Women’s Club
of Colorado Springs.
Eadie loved and was
interested in many
things especially being
with her friends. She
had a love for antiques,
meeting people, music,
reading, fishing, and
Colorado.
She is
survived by a nephew,
Jerry Jackson of
LaMirada, California;
nieces, Gail Nabors and
husband Ivan of Buffalo
City, Wisconsin, and Pat
Anderson of San Diego,
California; two great
nephews and one great
niece. Eadie is also
survived by her
helpmates Louise
Stevenson, and Charlie
Thompson, along with
many, many friends.
Eadie is
preceded in death by her
parents, her brother,
James L. Hayes; three
sisters, Marguerite
McDonald, Thelma Herrod
and Audry Jackson.
Memorials
in memory of Eadie may
be made through the
funeral home to First
Presbyterian Church or
Hospice Circle of Love.
