A funeral service for
Marguerite Ellen Keyser,
age 87, of Broken Arrow,
formerly of Enid, will
be at 1:00 P.M. Monday,
May 7, 2007, at the
First United Methodist
Church Chapel, with Rev.
David Wiggs officiating.
Burial will be in Grace
Hill Cemetery in Perry,
with arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be 1:00
to 4:00 P.M. at the
funeral home.
She was born
to Gerald S. and Beulah
(Strangs) Dowdy on Feb.
9, 1920 in Leedey, OK,
and died Thursday, May
3, 2007, at St. John’s
Hospital in Tulsa.
Marguerite
grew up in Oklahoma, and
graduated from Central
State University with a
Masters Degree.
She married Perry Irving
Keyser on August 3,
1940. She was an
Elementary Teacher at
several schools in
Oklahoma, and moved to
Enid in 1969.
She retired from
Ringwood Schools in
1982. She was a
member of First United
Methodist Church in
Enid, Methodist Women
and Retired Teachers
Association. In
September 2004, she
moved to Broken Arrow.
She is
survived by two sons,
Mike Keyser and partner
Larry Thompson of
McKinney, TX, and Perry
Keyser, Jr. and wife
Peggy of Okmulgee;
three grandchildren,
Suzanne Keyser of Enid,
Kristie Ann Keyser and
Mark Allen Keyser, both
of Tulsa; sister Betty
Jo Kennedy of Wanatchee,
WA; sister-in-law Helen
Keyser Morrison of
Perry; nephew David
Dowdy and wife Freddi of
Guthrie; niece Sherlia
Larson and husband Cliff
of Wanatchee, WA
Marguerite
was preceded in death by
her parents, Rev. Gerald
& Beulah Dowdy; husband
Perry in 1981; and two
brothers, Rev. Dr. John
Dowdy and Dr. Gerald
Dowdy.
Memorials may
be made through the
funeral home to Oklahoma
Medical Research
Foundation – Alzheimer’s
Division or The Enid
Symphony.
