A funeral service for
Marie M. Meyer, age 91,
formerly of Kremlin,
will be at 10:00 A.M.
Thursday, July 5, 2007,
at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, with Pastor Paul
Hass officiating.
Burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery,
with arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be
Wednesday evening from
6:00 to 7:30 PM at the
funeral home.
Marie was born July 2,
1915 to John L. and Anna
Margaret Kohn Wuerflein
at the family home
southeast of Kremlin,
and died Sunday, July 1,
2007 at Golden Oaks
Village in Enid.
She was baptized and
confirmed in the
Lutheran faith. Marie
graduated from Kremlin
High School with the
first senior class. On
January 1, 1942, she
married Alfred H.
Meyer. While he served
in World War II in
Europe, she remained
home to help her parents
with their farming and
cattle operation. Upon
his return after the war
in 1945, they made their
home southeast of
Kremlin, where they
farmed and reared their
family and still lived
there after retirement
in 1988. Marie was an
active member of the
Kremlin community, where
she served on the
Kremlin PTA for many
years. She was also an
active member of St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church,
LWML Women’s Group for
over twenty-five years,
serving as an officer in
the Ladies Circle Group
and teaching Sunday
School for over twenty
years. They later moved
to Golden Oaks Village
in September 2002.
Marie is survived by
three sons, Wayne Meyer
and wife Margie of
Kokomo, Indiana, Larry
Meyer and wife Ute and
daughter Holly, all of
New Bern, NC, and their
son Kevin and wife
Melissa of Cary, NC; and
Bruce Meyer and wife
Sandra and their
children, Kimberley and
Amanda, all of Misawa,
Japan; two daughters,
Connie Kuznekoff and
husband Paul and their
children, Jeffrey,
Robert and Laura all of
Waldwick, NJ, and Joyce
Meyer of Dallas, TX; and
a host of other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in
death by her husband
Alfred, six brothers and
six sisters.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church.
