Funeral service for
Maxine “Charlie” Rust
age 80 of Enid, will be
Wednesday, January 10,
at 1:00 P.M., at the
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel with Norman
Culmber officiating.
Burial will follow in
the Weere Cemetery,
rural Jet, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be
Tuesday evening from
6:30 – 8:30 P.M. at the
funeral home.
She
was born to Clifton and
Addie (Wright) Stanley
on April 20, 1926, in
Cheap, Kentucky, and
died Friday January 5,
2007 in Enid, Oklahoma.
Charlie grew up in
Fayetteville, West
Virginia. She met Frank
Andrew Rust at Fort
Bragg, North Carolina,
and they were married on
October 3, 1947 in
Chesterfield, South
Carolina. They lived in
Baltimore, Oklahoma, and
California before
returning back to
Oklahoma where they
lived the remainder of
her life. She worked as
a carpenter’s helper,
and at Grace’s Café,
Salt Plains Lake for
many years. Charlie
enjoyed shooting guns,
doing crafts, and making
mop dolls, but her
greatest pleasure was
being with her
grandkids.
Charlie is survived by
her husband Frank of the
home; 5 children Frank
Rust II of Blythe, Ca,
Mike Rust and wife
Jackie of Fountain
Valley, Ca., Keith Rust
and wife Mary of Baldwin
Park, Ca., Steve Rust
and wife Carol of Enid,
and Kathy Duerden and
husband Darryl of Enid;
20 Grandchildren, 39
Great-Grandchildren, and
3 Great-great
Grandchildren; one
brother Clifton Stanley
of Hawthorne, Ca
She
was preceded in death by
4 brothers, and 2
sisters
