    A Celebration of Life Service for Donald Robert McClanahan, age 83, of Drummond, will be at 1:30 PM Monday, June 8, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Enid, with Rev. Keith Miller and Rev. Byron Neufeld officiating.  Burial will be before the service at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. 

    He was born to James Ruben and Corrine Alice (Benton) McClanahan on October 15, 1925, on a farm southeast of Drummond, and died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at his home in Drummond.

    Donald attended school at Liberty, Waukomis and Drummond, graduating from Drummond High School with the class of 1943.  He joined the United States Navy in 1943 and served in the Pacific area until his discharge in February 1946.  On August 16, 1945, he married Eva Kaupke in Livermore, CA.  He was a farmer and carpenter until he retired in 1998.  Donald was a member of Enid First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

   He is survived by his wife Eva of the home; son Danny McClanahan of Drummond; daughter Donna Long and husband Rick of Winnabow, NC; foster son Gary Scott and wife Marilyn of Burnsville, MN; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

    Donald was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Wayne McClanahan.

    Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Baptist Church- Falls Creek Cabin.
