         A funeral service for Richard A. McCool, Sr., age 74, of Hunter, will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M., February 3, 2010 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Littrell officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.  Visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the funeral home.

     Richard was born to Earnest and Mabel McCool, on November 1, 1935, in Kaw City, and died on Friday January 29, 2010 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.

     He attended schools in Kansas and Nebraska, and in 1953 he graduated high school in Winfield, Kansas.  He attended college in Anderson, Indiana.  He married Brenda Humbert of Winfield, Kansas on June 1, 1953.  They lived in Newkirk, OK, before moving to Winfield, KS, to join his father in the family pest control business.  After his father’s death, he moved his family and McCool Exterminator’s to Enid.  After owning and operating the business for over forty years he retired due to ill health in 2006.  He was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church in Hunter.  Richard loved the Lord and his family. 

     Richard is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; four children Richard McCool Jr. and wife Susan of Lake Eufaula, Vincent McCool and wife Linda of Hunter, Barry McCool and wife Virginia of Enid, and Sherrie Martin and husband Bill of Grand Lake; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 6 nieces and nephews; and his church family.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to CRM International.
