Sue Carrie Melvin, loving
wife, mother, grandmother and sister, was born
to John Rennels and Sarah Babet (Vincent)
McClain on Oct. 4, 1936, in Bird Lake,
Michigan, and went home to be with her Lord on
Friday, Dec. 12, 2008,
at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid,
OK.
Sue grew up
in Jerome and attended North Adams High
School. She moved to sunny California, where
she met the love of her life, William Melvin.
In 1962, she married William D. Melvin in
Spring Valley, California. Sue was a
homemaker and enjoyed spending precious time
with her family and grandchildren. Even
though she was so far away from her parents
and siblings, they were always close to her
heart. When her daughter and son-in-law
decided to move to Enid, she soon followed in
1997. There was no keeping her away from her
grandchildren.
She is
survived by one daughter, Tina Rodriguez and
husband Ramiro of Enid; three grandchildren,
Candice Rose Chavez, Christian Michael
Rodriguez, and Ciara Alexis Rodriguez; and one
great grandchild, Natalia Rose Chavez, all of
Enid; four brothers, Tom, Johnny, Ronnie and
Terry McClain; and three sisters, Dorothy
Thomas, Barbara Griffin, and Claribel Cook.
Sue was
preceded in death by her husband William D.
Melvin and one sister Mary Jane Hansen. |
