            The funeral for Melvin Hugh Litson, Sr., age 80, will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 25, 2008,  at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kevin Choate officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

            He was born to Paul David and Mabel Olive (McCamen)  Litson on September 10, 1927, in Tonkawa, and died Thursday, February 21, 2008, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid.

            Melvin served two years with the Army Corp of Engineers with the 32nd General Service Regiment, building runways in Germany.  Melvin married Norma Patricia Seale on July 14, 1945, and they made their home in Enid.  He worked for Bond Bakery for many years, and then as a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 1992.  He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and active member for many years.

            He is survived by his wife, Norma Patricia Litson; one daughter Cynthia Wagner and husband Al of Grinnell, Iowa; four grandchildren, Shelley Burton and husband Robert of Enid, Stacey Miller and husband Gene of Newton, Iowa, Shannon Borah and husband Eric of New Underwood, South Dakota, and Christopher Litson of Huntington Beach, California; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, David Litson and wife Pat of Centennial, Colorado; and three sisters, Georgianna Dance of Enid, Donna Cauthen and husband Patrick of Midwest City, and Eva Frasure and husband Neal of Mesa, Arizona.

            Melvin was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Hugh Litson, Jr; and one brother Paul D. Litson, Jr.

            Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.
