for Flavia E. Moyers,
age 95, will be at 11:00
A.M. Tuesday, September
29, 2009 at the Ames
Cemetery, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be
Monday evening from 5:00
to 7:00 PM at the
funeral home.
She was born to
Bert and Alta (Keesucker)
Wheeler on September 14,
1914, in Ames, and died
Thursday, September 24,
2009, at Golden Oaks
Retirement Village in
Enid.
Flavia attended
school in Ames, and
graduated from Ames High
School. She earned a
Bachelors Degree at
Northwestern State
University. On July 7,
1937, she married Max K. Moyers in Ardmore. She
was a teacher at
Meno, Ames, Forest Home,
Ringwood, and Orienta.
She retired in 1973 from
Fairview Grade School,
after teaching there for
twenty years. Flavia was a member of
Central Christian Church
in Fairview. After
retirement, the Moyers
moved to Enid in 1989.
She is survived by
two daughters, Judith
Moyers of Tulsa, and
Patricia Colley of
Memphis, TN; one son,
Kenneth Moyers of
Albuquerque, NM; and
four grandchildren,
Craig Moyers of
Albuquerque, NM, Darin
McClain of Tulsa, OK,
Amanda Colley-Gardner of
Boston, MA, and Dr.
Jeremy Colley of El
Dorado Hills, CA.
Flavia was preceded
in death by her husband
Max on February 25,
2009,five
brothers and sisters.

to Fairview Alumni
