The funeral for Raymond
Duane Nakvinda, age 76,
of Enid, will be at
10:00 AM Thursday,
January 22, 2009 at the
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel, with
Clayton Wallace and Jim
Wallace officiating.
Burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery,
with arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
He was born to
Dewey and Lottie (Ream)
Nakvinda on December 29,
1932 in Enid, and died
Monday, January 19,
2009, in Enid.
He grew up in
Cashion, and graduated
from Cashion High
School. Ray served in
the United States Army
in Germany. He married
Ilene Hasley in 1956.
He later married Edith
Wade in 1965. On May
18, 1974, he married
Louise (Pierce) Stephens
in Cashion, and they
made their home in
Enid. Ray worked for
Tinker Air Force Base
for ten years, and
Northrop for eight
years. He worked in
car sales, owning Ray’s
Auto Sales, which opened
in 1968 and operated for
forty years until his
death. He was a member
of Followers of Christ,
and past member of V.F.W.
and American Legion.
Ray is survived by
his wife Louise, of the
home; four daughters,
Delinda Fay Barnett of
Okarche, Cinthia Louise
Mock of Oklahoma City,
Denise Kay Nakvinda of
Dover, and Linna Sue
Funderburgh of Mesquite,
TX; two sons, Dennis
Dwayne Nakvinda and
Michael Allen Nakvinda,
both of Oklahoma City;
his step-children,
Barbara Sue Davis and
Larry Dean Stephens,
both of Enid; two
brothers, Fred Nakvinda
of San Antonio, TX, and
Danny Corral Nakvinda of
Enid; three sisters,
Judy Lowana Williams of
Lahoma, Mary Ann Melrose
of Drummond, and Patty
Cheryl Melott of Enid.
He was preceded in
death by his parents,
brother Ted, and
daughter Marla Jo.
Memorials may be
made through the funeral
home to Ray Nakvinda
Memorial Fund.
