A
funeral service for
Robert Milton Newberg,
age 61, of Enid, will be
held at 2:00 P.M. on
Friday March 13, 2009 at
St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church with Rev. Kenneth
Wade officiating.
Burial will follow in
Memorial Park Cemetery,
with arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. A visitation for
family and friends will
be on Thursday from 7:00
to 9:00 P.M. at the
funeral home.
Robert was born to
Milton Oscar and Dorothy
Marie (Piper) Newberg in
Plymouth, IN on April
12, 1947, and died on
Monday March 9, 2009 in
Oklahoma City, OK.
Robert graduated in 1965
from West Township High
School in Plymouth, IN
and attended Greer
College until 1966. On
March 12, 1966 he
married Theresa Ann
Battles in Chicago, IL.
On July 28, 1966 he
entered the United
States Air Force, and
served until July 27,
1970. While he was in
the Air Force he learned
his trade of Mechanical
Contractor. They lived
in Wichita, KS until
April 1974 when they
moved to Enid, where he
pursued his career in
Mechanical
Refrigeration, working
for Dense Mechanical and
Luckinbill, Inc. In 1988
he started Newberg
Mechanical which he
owned and operated till
2006. He currently was
employed by NOC in
Tonkawa. Robert was a
retired member of the
local 344 Plumbers and
Pipefitters, and a
member of St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church where he
served on the property
committee. Robert
enjoyed racing, working
on automobiles, hunting
and fishing with his
children and
grandchildren. Robert
will be deeply missed by
his family and friends.
He is survived by his
wife Theresa of the
home; 2 daughters
Jeanette Hutchison of
Yukon, and Robin Unruh
of Enid; 1 son Robert
Newberg II and wife Jo
Renae of Enid; 6
grandchildren Brooke
Lynn Hutchison, Brandi
Nicole Hutchison,
Bethany Marie Hutchison,
Andrew Thomas Unruh,
Megan Lynn Carson, and
Robert Milton Newberg
III; his mother Dorothy
Reaker of Plymouth, IN;
1 brother Richard Arthur
Newberg of Plymouth, IN;
2 sisters Alice M. Ruff
of Plymouth, IN., and
Edna E. Miller of East
Lansing, MI; 13 nieces
and nephews; and 12
great-nieces and
nephews.
Robert was preceded in
death by his father
Milton Newberg, 2
brothers Victor Newberg
and Jon Newberg.
Memorial may be made
through the funeral home
to Cimarron Valley
Chapter of the American
Red Cross.
