  Wednesday April 4th, 2007 -  Family & friends will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. before proceeding to the cemetery.

            A graveside service for Norma Lee Stevens, age 80, will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Memorial Park Garden Chapel, with Pastor Michael Frisbee and Todd Stevens officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday morning at the funeral home before proceeding to the cemetery.

            She was born to John and Thelma (Martin) Cherry on August 12, 1926, in Garnett, Kansas, and died Monday, April 2, 2007, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid.

            Norma grew up in Welda, Kansas, and graduated from Welda High School.  She then attended Emporia Teachers College for two years.  She taught Elementary School in a country school in Kansas for a few years.  On December 21, 1946, she married Loal Stevens in Anthony, Kansas, and they made their home in Waynoka.  After retirement, they moved to Enid in the mid 1980’s.  For several years, she worked at First Baptist Church preparing meals.

            She is survived by her children, Jerry Stevens and wife Jolene of Broken Arrow, Randy Stevens and wife Linda of Stillwater, Craig Stevens and wife Sherri of LaCrosse, KS, Cathy Cannon and husband Ed of Enid; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister Shirley Welsh of Rochester, Minnesota.

            Norma was preceded in death by her husband Loal in 1999; three sisters, Martha Anderson, Geraldine Brewer, and Janet Carr, and brother Clayton Cherry.

            Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Kidney Division.
