A funeral service for
Ocus William Murphy, age
80, will be at 2:00 P.M.
Monday, March 5, 2007,
at the Anderson-Burris
Funeral Home Chapel,
with Rev. Dave Jones
officiating. Burial will
be in Memorial Park
Cemetery, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be
Sunday evening from 6:00
to 7:30 at the funeral
home.
He was born to Ocus and
Bertha (Millard) Murphy
on May 1, 1926, in
Garber, and died Friday,
March 2, 2007, in Enid.
He grew up in Garber,
graduating form Garber
High School. On
September 13, 1947, he
married June Rose in
Enid, where they made
their home. He was
employed at Pillsbury
for twenty years, and
then worked for O.G. &
E. in accounting for
twenty years. He enjoyed
fishing, hunting,
playing sports, work,
gardening, and spending
time with his family.
He is survived by his
wife, June of the home;
two sons, Ocus Murphy
III and wife Ky of Enid,
and Tim Murphy and wife
Sherri of Littleton, CO;
one daughter, Judy
Murphy Norris of Edmond;
six grandchildren; and
four
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by his parents.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to Oklahoma Medical
Research Foundation -
Alzheimer's Division.
