The funeral service for
Leslie Eugene Phillips,
age 69, will be at 11:00
AM Friday, February 19,
2010, at Emmanuel
Baptist Church with Rev.
Cody Anderson
officiating. Private
family burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery
with arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
He was born to
Jesse Coy and Bessie
Evelyn (Neff) Phillips
on July 26, 1940, in
Freedom, OK, and passed
away Monday, February
15, 2010, at his home in
Enid.
Les grew up east
of Freedom and graduated
from Freedom High School
in 1959 and in the same
year married Marna Lou
Rose. He began his long
career in the oil field
service by working at
Western Service and
Champlin Petroleum. In
1965 he married Mary
Elizabeth Wilcox. He
served in the 95th
Oklahoma Army Reserve
during the Vietnam War.
In 1967, Les was one
of the founders of Hamm
and Phillips. In 1976,
he founded Enid Mack
Sales, where he was the
owner and operator.
Mary Beth died in
1995. On October 3,
1998, he married Barbara
K. Anguish in Ft. Worth,
TX, and they made their
home in Enid. He
enjoyed his family and
friends and serving
others. Les adored his
grandkids and
great-grandkids, and
enjoyed fishing, riding
motorcycles, and jeeping.
He is survived by
his wife, Barbara of the
home; one son Troy
Phillips and wife Jill
of Enid; four
daughters, Leslyn
Chitwood and husband
Greg of Enid, Kristie
Sullivan and husband
Keith of Oklahoma City,
Tracie Nabors and
husband Roger of Frisco,
TX, and Leanne Lawter
and husband Michael of
McKinney, TX: eleven
grandchildren; Parks
Phillips, Kandise
Sissney and husband Jim,
Trevor Spomer, Gideon
and Emme Sullivan;
Brandon Crumpley and
wife Krystal, Ashley
Corporon and husband
Shawn, Tiffany and
Stephanie Nabors, Jacob
and Mikalyn Lawter: four
great-grandchildren;
Kamryn, Karstyn and
Kollyn Sissney, and
Colton Crumpley: two
brothers, Gilbert
Phillips and wife Pamela
of Perry, and Merlin
Phillips and wife Lorene
of Stillwater: two
sisters; Betty Mantz and
husband Roger, and
JoRetta Doctor of Alva.:
nieces, nephews,
friends, and devoted
employees.
